Poser une question pour en savoir plus sur le produitThe D/S Skibladner is the oldest steamship in regular service. It was built in 1856 and still regularly sails its ferry route on Lake Mjøsa in Norway. The Skibladner is also Norway's only paddle-wheel-driven ship. It is still in operation today and has been in regular service since its maiden voyage on August 2, 1856. Its route calls at towns on both shores of Lake Mjøsa and runs from Eidsvold to Lillehammer. Its home port is Gjøvik.
The ship is 50.1 m long. The hull has exceptionally sleek lines with a beam of just 5.06 m + the paddle wheels on each side. This gives a top speed of 14 knots. The propulsion produces 606 hp. The ship was built in cooperation between Motala Shipyard and Aker Mek. The Skiblander is maintained by the Oplandske Dampskipselskap, which still owns and operates the vessel.
The kit, made of laser-cut wooden parts, is supplied with a fitting set and lighting. For conversion to a remote-controlled model, a corresponding conversion kit with a motor and worm gear, a servo for the rudder line, and small parts is available as an accessory.
The typical narrow hull construction of these paddle steamers naturally presents some difficulties when building a model, especially an RC model. The hull has very little displacement and is accordingly "wobbly" due to its proportions. We therefore recommend this model for experienced model builders who already have experience with true-to-life RC model constructions.
