Poser une question pour en savoir plus sur le produitThis small, fast sports boat from the late 1940s is a pure wooden kit with a double-planked hull, like many of the other Chris-Craft kits from Dumas. It comes with chrome-plated fittings, molded plastic seats, rudder, shafting, propeller, clutch, and all flags and decals. The Utility is a good introduction to the Chris-Craft series. If you have already built other Chris-Craft models, this model will be a nice addition to your collection.
The history of Chris-Craft began in 1884. Christopher Columbus Smith began producing small boats and motor-driven launches in Michigan. Later, fast sports boats (runabouts) were produced. Many of the larger runabouts were used as water taxis, transporting tourists along rivers to resorts and various attractions. In 1922 and 1923, the name Chris-Craft became synonymous with the 7.90 m long, standardized runabouts produced by Hamilton Smith, a son of Chris Smith. Chris Smith maintained a high standard of quality unmatched in the industry, and thus Chris-Craft became a brand name for the years to come. Chris-Craft was the largest manufacturer of mahogany boats in the world, with unparalleled designs. Dumas model kits incorporate this mahogany flair in a special way. All kits are built on a keel and frame planking and are covered with fine mahogany underplank. All fittings and accessories are included in these kits, as are detailed construction drawings and instructions.
