Wire netting reliably protects endangered plants from root damage by voles or other intruders from below. Simply place the netting under the raised bed, bend up at the outer edges, and connect it to the lower edge of the raised bed. The square wire netting measures 1x1m and, depending on the raised bed's footprint, can be connected to each other in an overlapping pattern using the included wire ropes. It can be placed under the raised bed, leaving a small amount of netting hanging over the edges. The 9x9mm mesh size blocks the path of even small voles – and even shrinks further in the overlapping section. Unlike plastics, which react differently with organic matter depending on their composition and leave small pieces behind when decomposing, Vitavia wire netting is made of galvanized steel – making it both durable and harmless.
