This witch hazel is a real eye-catcher while the rest of the garden is still asleep. From January to March, the 'Westerstede' variety unfolds its beauty with its bright yellow, thread-like petals, which appear before the plant's leaves emerge.
This rather slow-growing variety is suitable for both the garden and container. It reaches heights of 300 cm.
After flowering, the witch hazel bears a large, round leaf that closely resembles hazel leaves. In autumn, the otherwise deep green leaves turn bright yellow-red.
