Festool has combined EC-TEC motor technology with intelligent motor management, significantly enhancing its performance. The brushless EC-TEC motor is wear-free and converts the battery's energy into power with virtually no loss. This gives the T 18+3 an enormous level of efficiency in its performance class. In addition, the electronic motor management system guarantees a longer service life. Microprocessors monitor and control the temperature, voltage, and current consumption of the motor, electronics, and battery.

The CENTROTEC quick-change system is a drill chuck and bit holder in one, and is 50% smaller and 80% lighter than a standard drill chuck. The hexagonal tools are centered with balls – for optimal power transmission and 10 times higher concentricity.

The new Festool Li-Ion 5.2 Ah battery pack with AIRSTREAM. The new AIRSTREAM technology guarantees faster reuse of the battery packs and thus uninterrupted work – even with energy-intensive applications such as sawing. The new battery packs feature an integrated cooling channel, which, when used with the new SCA 8 rapid charger, reduces the cooling time and thus the entire charging process by up to 65%. They are also extremely robust, featuring an integrated rubber frame to protect the workpiece and battery pack, and the charge level indicator makes the remaining capacity immediately visible.

The new TCL 6 and SCA 8 rapid chargers with charge level indicators charge quickly and are gentle on the battery. In addition to their compact design, they feature practical cable storage and the option of easy wall mounting. They are also extremely robust thanks to fully encapsulated electronics. The SCA 8 rapid charger (included with the Plus SCA and Set versions) also features AIRSTREAM technology, which reduces the charging process by up to 65% through targeted cooling of the battery pack. An LED display on the device provides information about the remaining charging time in minutes and the charging status.
